Gastritis, an inflammation or irritation of the lining of the stomach, is not a single disease. Rather,gastritis is a condition that has many causes. Common to all people with gastritis is pain or discomfort in the upper part of the belly (abdomen), sometimes called dyspepsia.

The main idea behind keeping him abstain from food is the inflammation in the stomach will decrease as all the toxic material inside the stomach will diminish.

Patient can also be given juicy fruits like grapes, apples, oranges, water melons, etc., 2-3 times a day. Patient should survive on these juicy fruits only, at least for 2-3 days. This fruit-diet gives fast relief and detoxifies the stomach. Patient should realize very well that unhealthy food habit, excess intake of alcohol and other drugs are the main cause of gastritis, and they should not forget this.

Once patient start showing improvement, he can be given balanced gastritis diet containing cereals, grams, green leafy vegetable, juicy fruits, etc.

Once the diagnosis of gastritis has been confirmed by a medical professional, treatment can begin. The choice of treatment depends to some extent on the cause of the gastritis. Some treatments target the exact cause of a particular type of gastritis. Most treatments aim at reducing symptoms. Your stomach often will heal over time if it is protected.

Home Remedies for Gastritis

1. Eliminate dairy products from your diet until the digestive system is healed.

2. Drink eight large glasses of water a day.

3. Take 400 IU a day of vitamin E to reduce inflammation in the stomach.

4. If your gastritis is caused by anemia, take supplemental chlorophyll two capsules three times a day, and follow the recommendations under anemia.

5. Licorice (DGL) helps heal the gastrointestinal tract chew 300 to 600 mg. 30 minutes before meals. This herb is also use to treat ulcers. Licorice is as effective as Tagamet.

6. Take Artichoke if you feel abdominal pain, bloating or to relive vomiting, and nausea.

Yoga for Gastritis

Yoga is a nonaerobic form of exercise that connects breath with movement, gently stretching and strengthening muscles. There are several different kinds of yoga. In the United States, the most commonly practiced form of yoga is hatha yoga, which emphasizes physical poses and sequences of poses called asanas. But there are other forms of yoga, too, such as Ashtanga yoga, which emphasizes a physically demanding flow of movement from one pose to another; Bikram yoga, which is practiced in a very hot (95 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit) room; Iyengar yoga, in which poses are held for long periods of time so that alignment can be perfected; and Kundalini yoga, which emphasizes the movement of the breath. All forms of yoga are good for reducing stress, which is one of the causes of gastritis. Scientific studies show that yoga is especially helpful for people with anxiety, arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic back pain, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, hormonal imbalances, irritable bowel syndrome, pregnancy, and migraine headaches.
